ABOUT

Chris Thompson graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University in December 1997. During the first ten years of his career, Chris worked in process engineering, process control engineering, and operations supervision in various downstream facilities. Chris had the opportunity to work on several unique projects, including the conversion of a specialty chemical plant from pneumatic to DCS control and the startup of an olefin plant on methane circulation to minimize flaring from the cold section of the plant. During his time in downstream facilities, Chris was also certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt and led several optimization projects targeting efficiency in downstream operations. In 2008, Chris went to work for Kinder Morgan’s CO2 business and spent 16 years working a variety of technical roles in midstream and upstream operations. In 2020, Chris obtained a Professional Engineer license in Chemical Engineering in the state of Texas. As his career advanced, Chris served as a mentor to several engineers, operators, and technicians in process facilities. Over the course of 26 years of industry experience, Chris has learned the financial value of best-in-class operations and the importance of knowledge, experience, and cohesion amongst the various individuals and teams tasked with executing the processes necessary for successful operations.
